Hennie Nel is the CEO of SanlamAllianz. A Chartered Accountant, he joined the Sanlam Group in 2012 as Chief Financial Officer of Santam. During his tenure at Santam, he was involved in the Group's pan-African operations and contributed to the acquisition of economic interests in Sanlam General Insurance businesses outside South Africa.
In 2023, he was appointed Executive Head: Corporate Finance at Sanlam Group, where he led a range of strategic transactions involving TymeBank (including GoTyme), Ninety One, MultiChoice Group and Shriram in India. With extensive experience in financial leadership, corporate transactions and pan-African business development, he brings significant strategic and operational expertise to his role as CEO.
